Its a Panther Kallista 2.8i and has about 55000 miles on the clock. We want to sell it because we simply don't use it and would like to find a good home for it.

We bought the car (whose name is Bagpuss!) in the early 1990s. We were told that she was one of the two Kallistas Panther displayed at the 1984 motor show and have a photograph of her there. So we've owned the car for over 30 years and, sadly,  she's spent most of the last 20 sat in the garage. The car is SORNed and does not have a current MOT.

In terms of valuation, the car is condition 3. There is a problem in that one of the rear brakes binds and that should be fixed before the car is driven but other than that the car is free from significant faults. The guide price is £7500 but we would be open to a sensible offer.

1989 Panther Kallista 2.9i

After i lost my wife in 2022 I could not drive my Panther Kallister any more she loved the car and we spent many enjoyable days driving around the South West so i sold the car, in Jan 2024 I saw Colins beautiful Kallista 2.9i for sale which i thought i could attend meetings and shows so i bought the car unfortunatly it has done the opposite and just brought back too many memories to cope with, therefore i am putting the car one again for sale

This car condition which is all due to the previous owner Colin is in exceptional in A1 condition which needs nothing to do except clean polish and enjoy driving it has twin stainless steel exhausts, black leather interia and Walnut vanee dash it come with outdoor and indoor covers MOT Jan 2025 and decads of club magazines.

Panther Kallista 2.9i injection.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to let this car go. Our Panther was one of the last six made before they ceased to manufacture them. It was released in 1990 and my husband bought it in 1996. We joined the Panther Club and enjoyed many happy years travelling around the UK. The Panther was regularly serviced and maintained by my husband who kept a record of work done.

After a few years of ownership, he decided he needed to get the car parts of the panther resprayed and prepared the areas that needed attention hence patches that he rubbed down. Due to personal circumstances my husband was unable to carry this work out so he put the panther in his garage to rest under a blanket and hooked it up to ensure the battery was ticking over.

Unfortunately, my husband passed away and I now find myself in a position whereby I have to move it on. It has been stored in a warehouse storage unit since he passed and so has deteriorated through lack of use and the conditions in the warehouse no doubt. It was suggested to me to pass it through an auction which horrified me as I know how much the Panther meant to him and so I would like to make sure that its new owner will give it the TLC that it needs to bring it up to its former glory then continue to enjoy the pleasure it gave us.

More recently, I invited Gary and Kay (South Wales area coordinators) to take a look. It is not MOT’d, taxed or insured as it’s been off road for over two years. The brake fluid has leaked out and I’m sure rubbers and seals will need replacing in addition to a respray. I believe that the 2.9i was a high-performance car and if this was restored by the right person, they would be the owner of a sought-after Panther Kallista.
